I am so so devastated. This man was my idol, my comfort, my laughter. I loved the big screen in large part because of him. Who would not love this man who brought every human element a reason to be happy to be alive. Now you gone. Rest in peace my friend.

Mrs Doubtfire legend's wife confirms: 'I lost my husband and my best friend'

ROBIN Williams was found dead yesterday.

The legendary actor and comic, 63, had been battling with severe depression and the cause of death is believed to be suicide.

An ambulance was called to the star's San Francisco home at noon.

His wife, Susan Schneider confirmed his death with: "This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings.

"I am utterly heartbroken."

President Obama led the heartfelt tributes following the tragic news and said: "'Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor and everything in between. But he was one of a kind."
